I have loved Mika ever since I was in sixth grade, and now I am a freshman in college. I use to spend days blasting his music in my room, watching all his live performances and his video blogs, telling all my friends about him, and dreaming of meeting him in person. I thought it would never happen, I kind of gave up. He rarely tours in the U.S, and for a while he rarely toured at all. I attend George Mason University near D.C. now, and a couple of months ago I was browsing the calenders of D.C. venues. and I saw that MIKA WAS SOON TO PERFORM AT A SYNOGOGUE IN D.C. I could not believe it. Unfortunatly I had already spent my money on other concerts for the summer (she & him, edward sharpe…etc) Even though I did not buy a ticket, I decided to go to the venue anyways for the chance to meet Mika. I got there hours early hoping to meet him before the show, but he was late and had to run straight in for sound check (I still got to see him up close). Then I met two amazing people who came for the same reason, without a ticket, but all the way from North Carolina! We became friends, and waited until after the concert together. After the concert, a bunch of really rude people jumped in front of us and pushed us out of the way to meet him. We were really upset because we thought our chance was ruined. However, when mika came out, we was extremely nice and he made sure to get through everyone before he left. He was autographing things for people, but not taking pictures. I got my autograph first, and then I went to the end of the line (I’m suprised other people didn’t have the same idea). When he got to us again, we told him that we didn’t see his show and came only to meet him. He told us that he felt awful and that if he had known he would have come outside and brought us in (i suppose he didn’t see all my tweets haha). Also, his manager had apparently noticed us earlier and told him about us. He was so sweet. And so, he agreed to a picture with us, and ONLY US, out of the 100+ people who had pushed us out of the way. I have to admit I teared up while I watched Mika signing for people, I was just so excited and I couldn’t believe I was standing there with him. I love him so much. Even though he didn’t want a hug because he was sweaty, I made sure to give him and big hug before we left:) As he drove of, we were the only ones left standing and we waved to him and kissed to him goodbye. It was perfect<3
